MF Hussain - The Great Maestro

Maqbool Fida Hussain popularly known as MF Hussain, world's renowned artist, India's Picasso finally passed away two weeks ago in exile at the age of 95. Through his talent, art, creativity he took our country all over the world. He got recognition, admiration, love, support all over the world. Ironically, he was not able to achieve all that from the place he was born. It is rather a highly shameful act on our part that we didn't allow him to live his last few years in his motherland i. e. India. He was a man who cherished the good life and used to paint with never ending zeal.

Artists half his age suffer from a burnout but not M.F. Hussain. He held no ill will against those who vandalised his works, burnt his portraits, hurled the vicious insults against him in the country, this shows how great he was. The last of his works included the two great Indian epics- 'The Ramayana' and 'The Mahabharat'. He was criticized for his work that he had painted the nude paintings of Indian goddesses which hurted the sentiments of Hindu communal people. But still there are many temples in India like Khajurao which has many nude scriptures of Indian gods. Why it was not targeted by people like that?

The solution lies in the fact that Hussain Saab was a Muslim, that's why all the demonstrations were carried out against him. He was criticized, his art and talent was nevertheless questioned. All the people behind this were ruffians. His stay in the Mumbai became miserable. People wanted him to move out of India. Supreme Court promised a security force outside his house but a man of his stature wasn't ready to live his life in such a manner. He wanted to live freely. As a result, out of compulsion he decided to move out of India and he started staying in Dubai. If a Hindu was involved in place of him then nothing could have happened. It's a shame on India's part that it calls itself a secular state. India failed to realize the potential of such a great talent. With this shame we have to live rest of our lives. His muses from the Bollywood fraternity included the likes of Madhuri Dixit, Amrita Arora and the latest addition to the list was Anushka Sharma. We pray that may HIS soul lie in rest.
